Anthropomorphic Moon
Claire Christy-Tirado
I was born and raised in SW Portland Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene with a bachelor's degree in History and one in Fine Arts. I have been an artist my whole life and always had a particular interest in history, nature, and exploration. After graduating, I spent several months traveling in Europe where I realized my great passion for studying places and the interplay between history and the natural world through drawing, photography, and journaling. After moving back to Portland I have been particularly inspired, seeking to capture the spirit and historical texture of the place I grew up. In addition to photography and illustrative research, I love to explore these ideas through multi-media painting on wood panels where I focus more on color, depth and texture. I currently work with my husband at a local restaurant (Pollo Bravo) and love to spend my time exploring the city, and surrounding country with him by foot, bike, car, and kayak!
