Ginger Lou

I have been living in San Diego for most of my life. I work at a multicultural art school for children and a middle school with children with disabilities. My primary media is mixed media. I create my art using collage (vintage and present day images from books etc.), paint (all kinds), found objects, epoxy, wood and more.

My subject matter often centers around the female, she is represented as a struggling entity who is strong and fierce in her determination to face all that the world has to offer and purposefully navigate the trenches to land on her feet. There is also much representation to show personal growth, introspection, connectivity to others and the world around us, transformation, and the adaptability necessary for life's journey.

I always contribute an intention of positivity and a hopeful embrace to each piece and often use images such as the butterfly to symbolize transformation and hummingbirds to symbolize the necessity to keep pushing further. ♥️
