Everyone Needs a Hug by Hung Ma

$50.00

A Portland-based hobby artist, Hung grew up expressing himself through art, whether drawing from pop culture or everyday life. After losing touch with it during high school and college, he found himself drawing again in the past couple years as a means to bond and connect with teammates and colleagues, recreating life events and inside jokes with a comedic and lighthearted touch.

For this piece, Hung was inspired to think about what the concept of comfort food might mean to a child. Food is such a basic life necessity that it can be taken for granted when it's not easily accessible. Having it around might be as comforting as a simple hug. So no matter how difficult sometimes can get, a little comfort food can go a long way to provide a little light in the dark, and allow a kid to just be a kid.
