Portland based artist Katie Jeanne Reim aims to capture the connection people feel towards their favorite wild places through her mixed media paintings. Using altered vintage maps as the base, she adds layers of acrylic and detailed pen and ink. Since 2016, she has been running her business, Final Switchback, which offers her fine art prints and quality outdoor goods.
Her piece for this year’s show was inspired by the idea that big growth starts with a small seed. The native Douglas Fir pinecone signifies the future’s potential.
